Why buy from a breeder? Well here are a few good reasons why. First, the baby bunnies get

attention that they are denied in pet stores, they get their own one on one personal bonding with

people. Second, they are not exposed to any diseases that another bunny may be immune to or

carrying(some rabbits can carry diseases and not be affected by it or show signs of having it, but the

others around it can come down sick). Pet stores supply of bunnies come from many Rabbitries and

bring high risks to each bunny there of being sick and exposed. Rabbits can catch head colds and

respiratory infections from people, and when they are in a pet store how many people go and try to

pet the bunnies when they are sick(especially kids)? Bunnies can even catch phenomena from people.

Breeders know what gender the bunny is: Breeders know what gender each bunny is, sometimes

pet stores guess and so unplanned pregnancies happen. Our friends had this problem, they were told

they were both girls, but 2 months later Magic and Love had a batch of baby bunnies in the cage.

Breeders have more experience in knowing what, how, and where to look for the gender. True, there

are certain times when you are not able to tell if Bunny is a he or she, but if you are not able to tell,

then they are to young to sell, you should be able to tell what they are at about 6 and half to 9 weeks,

depending on the litter size and breed.

They need to be about 6 to 8 weeks old before they can leave mom, and be eating pellets and

drinking water. I say 6 to 8 because it depends on how quick the batch matures and the breed of

rabbit. Some are slower, some faster. If you leave them to in with the dam to long, they cause

damage to her underside and chest area.

Hands on Advice from Breeders: Breeders can also give you hands on advice and info that can

help you on our bunny journey, pet stores can not give this advice simply because they have never

delt with rabbits once they are passed a certain age. Breeders usually have years of experience and

trial and error with bunnies and can help you not to make the same mistake as they did or tell you

what to do if your bunny gets into trouble.
